A win for Tonga’s Mataliki girls, has given them a fighting chance to secure a spot at the semifinals in the OFC Women’s Olympic Qualifier, held at Apia Samoa.

Tonga’s Mataliki soccer team will compete in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament-Oceania Qualifier from 7-13 February. The team arrived in Apia, Samoa last week on 3 February, led by the TFA Chief of football and coach, Kilifi Uele.

'Ikale Tahi Head Coach Toutai Kefu has tonight named a 32-player squad, for Tonga's 2023 Rugby World Cup campaign in France. While star players Folau and Veainu are unavailable due to recurring injuries, Kefu said it's a squad he is proud to coach.

Scoring six tries, the 'Ikale Tahi happily won their second international test match against Canada, 36-12, in Nuku'alofa this afternoon. Sosefo Sakalia and Kyren Taumoefolau each scored two tries and Vaea Fifita and Sam Moli one each for Tonga. Isaac Olson scored both tries for Canada. Peter Nelson kicked the conversion.
