I thought that 'Akilisi used
I thought that 'Akilisi used to say to a previous government (that of Hon Tu'ivakano) that there was no need to appoint a government minister from outside those elected into Parliament. Now he contradicts himself yet again with the appointment of Hon Dr Tevita Tu'i Uata into one of the ministerial portfolios in his own Cabinet. And why bring in a person whose name is connected with a number of struggling businesses in Tonga to the portfolio of Commerce, Consumer and Trade? What experience and promises has Dr Uata got to offer to the Tongan people in this area? Is this not giving that ministerial portfolio away to be absolutely corrupted? The Tongan people really need an opposition leader and an opposition party to rise up and call the 'Akilisi government into account not only for their decision makings but also about how they spend the taxpayers money on themselves. That's just normal democratic procedure much needed to make any democratic government including our own, true to its own political principles. Ma'afu Palu.
