An ANU Masters graduate, Vika ‘Unga, completed a leadership program in Ngunnawal, Australia, on 20 November.

Australia Awards, said that the programme called "WLI Leadership Lab residential intensive", brought together 19 men and women in Ngunnawal in Australia, after five months of online learning.

The program strengthens the participants networks and hones their skills in practicing leadership for positive development in their communities, countries and the Pacific.

Tongan participant, Vika, said that the Lab intensive reconfirmed the importance of working with others to bring change.

“Leadership is not confined to positions of authority. It is not the title that defines a leader, but the ability to inspire, influence, and drive change” she said.

“I now have a clearer understanding of how to build stronger, more collaborative relationships with the people around me, [because] I cannot create lasting change on my own; I need the support and engagement of others to mobilize that change”.

Vika holds a Masters degree on Public Administration and was a graduate from the Australian National University.
