Tonga’s Mataliki soccer team will compete in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament-Oceania Qualifier from 7-13 February. The team arrived in Apia, Samoa last week on 3 February, led by the TFA Chief of football and coach, Kilifi Uele.
The team consists of 27 players, eight of whom participated in last year’s U-19 team and two from the U-16 team. The team also introduces four debut players including Telly Vunipola, Lisimani Helu, Leila Haugen and Eden Makaafi.
The Mataliki girls will be playing against New Zealand on 7 February, Vanuatu on 10 February and Samoa on 13 February.
