With just a week-away from the start of the Rugby World Cup 2015 on Friday, 18 September (Saturday 19 September Tongan time). Tonga Power Ltd is supporting the ‘Ikale Tahi with a donation of $25,000 pa’anga and a catch phrase "Power behind 'Ikale Tahi".
Tonga Power CEO Robert Matthews accompanied by the Minister for Public Enterprises Hon Poasi Tei made the donation to TRU chairman ‘Epeli Taione and Fuka Kitekei’aho on Friday 4 September, at the TRU headquarters in Nuku'alofa.
The funds will help to support the team at the RWC. The official opening will be at Twinkenham Stadium in London when England play Fiji.
“We stand together to show our full support for the team in their upcoming edeavour. We firmly believe that the people and nation have faith and put their trust on the players that they will do their utmost best to represent the Kingdom of Tonga", stated Tonga Power.
Matthews had also donated additional $4,000 to the Aoniu Fundraising Committee.
