Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Domestic violence is becoming increasingly common in Tonga, Tonga's Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Hon. 'Alisi Taumoepeau, said today, stressing that a change of negative attitudes toward women is just as important as taking legal steps to protect women.

Geneva, Switzerland : Dr Margaret Chan the Director General of the World Health Organization on in a statement on International Women's Day today, said that given the right support, women can be a positive force in ways that can lift households and entire communities out of poverty. "Women are the backbone of all our societies - as leaders, as caregivers, and as mothers. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Tonga's official foreign reserves for February fell by $1.2 million, from $85.4 million to $84.2 million, an amount equivalent to 4.4 months of imports of goods.
