A table tennis 'Dream Building Project' was launched on September 22 in Kolonga, aimed to improve the quality of life of persons with disability in remote villages and outer islands of Tonga. The project will run for two and a half years in a collaboration between the Tonga Table Tennis Federation, International Table Tennis Federation-Foundation and partners, supported by the Australian Government.

New York Times reporting: Six golfers were named on Wednesday Sept. 8 to round out the 12-man American team that will compete in the latest Ryder Cup match against a team of European golfers to be played Sept. 24 to 26 at Whistling Straits in Haven, Wisconsin. The U.S. Ryder Cup captain, Steve Stricker, selected as his choices Tony Finau, Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, Harris English, Daniel Berger and Scottie Scheffler.

Professional golfer, Tony Finau, who is of Tongan heritage, won the PGA Tour’s Northern Trust Open on Monday, 23 August, surpassing world no.1 Jon Rahm who was leading on Saturday, and beating Cameron Smith in a playoff in Jersey City, New Jersey. The win is Tony’s first since he took out the 2016 Puerto Rico Open, and he now leads after the first of three events in the FedExCup Playoffs.
