Tonga's Honorary Consul General in Sydney, Australia, Louise Waterhouse, has announced the death of her mother, Suzanne Waterhouse, who passed away on Sunday 27 August at the age of 93 years. Suzanne, a Sydney socialite, and her husband the late, Bill Waterhouse, were friends of Tonga's royal family, and hosted them in Sydney on many occasions.

A prominent local businessman, baker, Alfred Francis Cowley (62), passed away on Saturday 19 August, in hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, his family have confirmed. He was the fourth generation of Cowley's who have been baking in Tonga for over 130 years.
