‘Alaki Fonua Tupou (56) was sentenced to 18-months imprisonment for causing seriously bodily harm, when he punched a man on the mouth smashing five of his teeth at a rugby match in Kelana, Vava'u. The sentence was fully suspended on conditions.

A 51-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his twin sister, whom he allegedly stabbed in Falaleu, Vava'u on Saturday, March 5.

‘Okusitino Penisimani Tatafu (49) is the man who was arrested in Neiafu, when Police seized 254.72 grams of cocaine on November 14. He remains in police custody, until January 2022.

Petueli Mafua he Lotu Fifita (25) was sentenced to six-years and four-months imprisonment for dangerous driving causing the death of an 81-year-old grandfather in Ta'anea, Vava'u. He was also banned from driving for two-years, effective from his release from prison.

A total of 24 people have been arrested and charged, to date, in relation to the estimated 14 kilograms of cocaine seized in Vava‘u. More cocaine was seized in the latest three arrests in Vava'u and Tongatapu.
