Ports Authority Tonga was elected as the new President of the Pacific Maritime Transport Alliance for the next three years, at PMTA's Annual General Meeting held in Auckland, New Zealand, yesterday. The Chairman of the Transport Shared Board of Directors, Mr Stephen Edwards accepted the role on behalf of Ports Authority Tonga.

Australian Police, who require positive identification to confirm if she is still alive, are making the appeal drive as part of their annual “Missing Persons Week”.

Both His Majesty’s Armed Forces (HMAF) and Tonga Police confirmed today that they were not involved in a massive cocaine seizure by the French navy from a yacht "off Tongan waters" in recent days. French media reported today that over 1.4 tonnes of cocaine was seized from a sailing boat.
