Tonga Communications Corporation (TCC) will be providing special relief mobile packages and bonus data, along with other initiatives to ensure all TCC customers are supported during the unprecedented CoViD-19 National Lock Down, the company announced on March 27. TCC CEO Timote Katoanga urged everyone to follow Tongan Government guidelines on Lock Down Level Four to limit and prevent the spread of CoViD-19 across Tonga.

The launching of an SMS text message service by the Tonga Communication Corporation on July 11,was a milestone in the development of mobile telecommunications in Tonga, according to the Acting General Manager of TCC Timote Katoanga.

The Tonga Communication Corporation had connected 9,000 subscribers to its U-Call mobile telephone service by October 2004. Timote Katoanga, Deputy Manager for TCC said that this was a tremendous jump from 2,000 U-Call subscribers recorded in the previous three months.
