A new hospital for Vava'u and a new nursing school at Vaiola Hospital in Tongatapu, are two big health initiatives, planned by government under its new budget, the Prime Minister Hon Hu’akavameiliku said today. He expects financial aid from foreign donor partners will help to cover the government's $31 million budget deficit for the financial year.

They discussed Australian Government infrastructure financing for Tonga through AIFFP and the state of the Tongan economy, Tonga's debt obligations and Australia's ongoing budget support. Discussions on projects included Parliament House reconstruction, the Queen Salote Wharf and ICT cable redundancy,
