The Tonga Secondary Entrance Examination (SEE) result this year revealed a low pass rate of 36% out of the 1399 Form 2 students in Tonga Government Middle Schools (GMS) who sat the examination.

Disappointing results for Tonga's national exams in 2019, with a very low pass rate, has stung the Ministry of Education and Training to look at ways of improving students performances in the future. "We recognize there is a problem and we are outlining our plan to try and solve this issue,” said the Minister for Education and Training, Hon Siaosi Sovaleni this week.
