Tonga Power Ltd. announced its lowest electricity tariffs in 14 years, as diesel prices continue to drop during the CoViD-19 pandemic. A 16.4% reduction in the tariff will last for three months from 1 July 2020 unless otherwise reviewed.

Tonga Power Ltd. announced an electricity tariff reduction of 12.2%, due to a drop in global diesel prices. The reduced tariffs, starting today April 1, are further enhanced by a government lifeline subsidy on the first 100kWh. The new tariff schedules are published here in Tongan and English. The Electricity Commission has approved a new power tariff of 85.14 seniti per unit to be effective from 1st February 2018 - an increase of 3.94 seniti per unit. The increase is attributed to a 14.6 percent increase in fuel prices (per litre) since June 2017.
