Tonga Police makes seven arrests

Nuku'alofa, Tonga

Tonga Police conducted a series of drug operations on 4 and 5 December 2025 across Nuku'alofa, Western and Eastern Districts of Tongatapu.

During the operations, Police seized methamphetamine, cannabis, drug utensils, and cash linked to suspected drug activities.

Seven individuals were arrested and all charged with possession of illicit drugs and drug utensils.

The youngest being a 24-year-old female from Halaleva.

  • 59-year-old male, Popua
  • 43-year-old male, Popua
  • 24-year-old female, Halaleva
  • 48-year-old male, Pahu
  • 45-year-old male, Vaini

The operations are part of ongoing efforts by Tonga Police to disrupt drug distribution networks and strengthen the safety of communities across the Kingdom.

Tonga Police said it's dedicated to safeguarding communities and addressing the spread of illicit drugs across Tonga.

They said they appreciate the ongoing support and cooperation from the public and urge citizens to report any suspicious or drug-related activities.
