Magnitude 5.3 earthquake felt throughout Tonga

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake was felt throughout 'Eua, Ha'apai, Vava'u, and Tongatapu this morning at 10:50 am, at a depth of 10 km, Tonga Geological Services reported.

The earthquake was 117 km east of Ohonua, 'Eua, 144 km east of Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu, 154 km southeast of Nomuka, Ha'apai, 176 km south-southeast of Pangai, Ha'apai, and 297 km south of Neiafu, Vava'u.

There was no tsunami threat advisory to all the islands.
