Pita Taufatofua hopes for Olympic miracle in third sport at Tokyo

Thank the Gods of the Universe for our Buffed Oiled up Olympiad (BOO) flagbearer Pita Taufatofua and Tonga's first female flagbearer Taekwondo Olympian Malia Paseka at the opening ceremony of the the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo.    

Malo Lahi Pita and Malia for bringing such joy, pride, hope and inspiration to Dongans, part Tongans, wannabee Tongans and especially to youth in the Pacific... Pita, the Twitter response from so many of your fans, followers and devotees throughout the world in the MT  article highlights the need for our pollies (politicians) NOT to be directly involved in the development of sports in the Kingdom of the Friendly Islands. The proposed draft Law by our Parliamentarians to be given more power to meddle in the development of sports in the Kingdom, the timing and deadlines of responses etc is a serious cause for concern.

Why are our Parliamentarians not discussing the more immediate problems plaguing our country – drug addiction, mental health issues, violence against women, children etc. HM King TVI highlighted these problems a couple of months ago.

Thank Gods for the various NGOs, FBOs, women’s groups, businesses, the creative and traditional arts groups to keep the country financially afloat. Artists who team up with aid donors, families who have migrated or are working in other countries.

Conversations with peeps here in Bula Land and the diaspora have led me to opine that Tonga's fledgling democratic system may be on a dangerous, sleepery idiotic crawling path going from baby steps to senility. I hope and pray that I am wrong.

I hope and pray that HM TVI appoints Pita to mobilise an appropriate team of peeps to develop a plan for the development of sport in the Kingdom. Pita is in Tokyo talking and tweeting with the movers and shakers of the development of world sport. Our Buffed Oiled up Olympiad (BOO) has sooo much more credibility than our Overweight Overpaid Pollies (OOPs). And he has done more to generate interest in future tourists and visitors to the Kingdom than past Parliamentarians visiting the US to promote tourists to visit Tonga.

Very appropriate comments, and will be an effective approach to leveraging of a rather obvious but highly politicized life-saving industry to our talented youths ----SPORTS!!!...Imagine the cost effectiveness of a BOO marketing...a few scraped coconuts and a handful of tuitui marbles! coconut extract for shinyness, and tuitui extract for sustainable durability in cold low temperatures. That idea alone is what modern technolograts would refer to today as intellectual innovation, and filthy rich multi billionares would refer to the approach as entrepreneurial intelligence!

The Kingdom's Pollies (as you referred to our politicians) if humble enough and accept to learn, may take the simple & achievable BOO Model and harness it as a real alternative for our future generations' pride and prosperity!
