Lord Tu'ivakano knows very
Lord Tu'ivakano knows very well that the Petition against the Cabinet Ministers cannot work to impeach the Ministers. Talking like that is nothing but a smearing campaign...the kind of talk that has dominated the discussions in the House since it resumed. If the nobles think the allegations in the Petition are sufficient to base an impeachment on...why have they NOT submitted an Impeachment as yet? IS IT BECAUSE they know the allegations in the Petition are so weak and are nothing but a fishing expedition that none of the nobles wouldn't be made a fool of by swearing to those wild allegations to support an Impeachment as required by the Rules of the House? Yet they expect.. short of harassing the Speaker to make the investigations for them? How sad...so sad... And then, Tevita Lavemaau's motion for the Commission to investigate the riot, received no response from the Speaker. The Speaker did not respond because of the sub-judice rule observed by the House... what has been concluded by the Court cannot be questioned by the House. The Court has concluded the 16/11 matters & any decision in regards the PM, is binding. However, allegations of new evidence have emerged on Social Media (another fishing expedition?) on which anyone, ANY ONE already tried for 16/11 involvement can be tried again including the two seniale on social media. Lavemaau's allegations is very serious...given the sub-judice rule, and the possibility of emerging new evidence regarding the 16/11 trials, his verbal motion was unhelpful to the House's procedures. The Speaker was wise in not responding to him. We Tongans, listening to the discussions in the House wish that members would do less tongue wagging & do a bit more constructive thinking & following the procedures to moves things forward, rather than latching on every wee bit of air in the House to vent their intense dislike on each other!!
