Can I respectfully suggest
Can I respectfully suggest that the Government heed the very recent appeal from His Majesty for ALL Tongans to work together? The new name for this Government's Ministry highlights the importance of looking after the interests of the consumers. However, after reading the article, I was compelled to write and respectfully suggest that Edgar Cocker and Sandra Fifita consider for their Ministry to take the lead to get the Government Departments to work together. Could MCCTIL meet with ther relevant peeps t Customs & the Food safety division of the MAFFF to discuss ways Government can prevent/minimise the importation of goods with no labels etc. In the meantime, consumers might follow the advice provided by the officials of MCCTIL. Perhaps the media can help by radio talk back programmes. Agricultural Extension workers might be persuaded to talk to the hard working farmers & people in the rural areas who may not have mobile phones. Concerned teachers and health workers will have ideas. I'm sure the employees of other Government departments will have ideas as well - after all, every one is a consumer and many will have more innovative ideas. I look forward to reading the new Ministry's annual report to find out more about the Innovation that is going be undertaken.
