In my opinion I think it
In my opinion I think it finally a good thing to drop the Pacific Games, because we could never afford it since the beginning. Going back to when we made a bid for the games, or when we suddenly heard out of the blue we won the Pacific Games, the gov budget was already struggling and forecasts saw that it would only get bigger when we finished spending the big Chinese loan, and would soon need to start paying it back. When Pacific Games came out, we knew there might be increased taxes, since it unlikely and unreliable to depend on foreign aid to pay for everything. Who we ended up taxing was unfair and too risky. I'm sure many were looking forward to the games but despite the rosy picture in the bid we made to Pacific Games Council, I don't know, but from my view outside government we never had the money to afford it. We can only look back now and learn from what we did, good or bad and move on from there. God bless
