Samoa will host the 2019 Pacific Games after winning the hosting rights when it was unanimously approved by the Pacific Games Council Executive Board.

Tonga's Prime Minister Hon ‘Akilisi Pohiva has, in an abrupt turnaround, said in a radio interview today that Tonga will not host the Pacific Games 2019. His statement comes just days after confirming last week that the games were on.
