Tonga Airports Ltd. declares its highest dividend of $2 milllion

Tonga Airports Ltd. has declared a $2 million pa'anga Annual Dividend for 2015-16, payable to its shareholder the Government of the Kingdom of Tonga.

"This is the highest dividend amount paid from Tonga Airports Ltd. to the Government of Tonga. The dividend amount represents 76% of the total profit after tax raised by the company," the public enterprise said in a statement today.

The $2 million dividend cheque was presented to the Minister of Public Enterprises, Hon. Poasi Tei, by the Chairman of Transport Sector Shared Board responsible for Tonga Airports Limited, Mr Stephen Edwards with Deputy Chairman Dr Sione Tu’itupou Fotu and Directors, Mr Tomifa Paea, Mrs Helen Po’uliva’ati Toli and Mr Viliami Takau Jr; and the Chief Executive Officer of TAL, Mr Viliami Ma’ake.

"This is TAL’s dividend declared for 2015-2016 fiscal year during its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 1st December 2016." 

Tonga Airports Ltd. provides airport services at Fua’amotu International Airport, Tongatapu; Lupepau’u Airport, Vava’u; Salote Pilolevu Airport, Ha’apai; Kaufana Airport, ‘Eua; Lavinia Airport, Niuafo’ou; and Mata’aho Airport at Niuatoputapu.

"Tonga Airports Ltd aims to provide a safe and efficient airport environment that is both welcoming to travellers and commercially successful to airline and business partners. Continuous upgrading of the airports offers improved customer facilities, while ensuring full compliance with all international regulations. In doing so, we aim to encourage increased passenger traffic and aircraft movements and contribute to the growth and development of the nation," the statement said.
