The Tonga Men’s 7s team finished in 22nd place out of 24 teams at the 2018 Sevens Rugby World Cup in San Francisco between 20 – 22 July. Tonga suffered three defeats to Kenya 19 – 7, Chile 33 – 29 and Papua New Guinea 31 - 14. Their only win came against Zimbabwe 31 – 5.

However, they have a last chance to qualify if they can beat Cook Islands at the 2017 Mini-Pacific Games in December.
