More than 80 teachers graduated from the government’s Tonga Institute of Education on 13 December in Nuku'alofa, with various qualifications to work in secondary, primary and early childhood teaching.

The 2022 Dux of Tonga High School and Head Girl, Malia Mafi, received her awards during the government secondary school’s prize giving ceremony on 9 December.

A total of 167 graduates from the University of the South Pacific Tonga Campus celebrated their graduation at Falemasiva Hall on 18 of November. Samoa’s Head of State, Afioga Uimalealiifano Vaaletoa Eti Sualauvi II, as Chancellor of the University, conferred the degrees.

Eighteen senior students at Beulah Adventist College were excited to receive laptop computers on 4 November, under a national programme to encourage further online learning, funded by government.

Two women civil servants received their Masters' Degrees and Post Graduate Certificates from institutions in Japan, in an award ceremony in Nuku'alofa, on 27 October. "Last year, two male civil servants were awarded the same opportunity. Three Liahona High School students received Doma-Miko Arts Scholarships for 2022, presented by Princess Angelika Latufuipeka Tuku’aho at Liahona High School, on 18 October.

Forty laptops were handed over to the Ministry of Education from the Universal Peace Federation [Oceania] in Nuku'alofa on 13 October.

Eleven students who have been awarded the Chinese Government's scholarships in the past three-years attended a reception, on 3 September. The students were not able to travel to China, due to the COVID-19 situation, however, the Embassy will cover their travel expenses, now that the borders have re-opened.

A new classroom building for Government Middle School Mu’a (‘Api ko Fakala’aa) was commissioned by the Prime Minister and Minister of Education Hon. Hu’akavameiliku on 19 August.
