A slight drop in new petroleum prices for petrol, kerosene, and diesel, has been approved by the Tonga Competent Authority effective from today, 16 April. The retail price of petrol, kerosene and diesel has decreased by 0.09 seniti/litre, 5.68 seniti/litre and 2.98 seniti/litre respectively, with all price changes including consumption tax.

The 40th anniversary of shipping company, Pacific Forum Line (PFL), was celebrated last night by staff and guests at the Tanoa International Dateline Hotel in Nuku’alofa. The PFL was established in 1978 by the late King Taufa’ahau Tupou IV of Tonga, the late Sir Ratu Kamisese Mara of Fiji, and High Chief Malietoa Tanumafili II of Samoa, with its first meeting hosted at Tonga College.

Last Friday, 8 December, it gave out its US$100 millionth loan to entrepreneur Vilisi Tabua, a fish dealer at the Suva Public Market in Fiji.
