No official reports of the dissolution of Tonga's Parliament had been issued by 5:00pm this afternoon, following hours of speculation that Tonga's King was dissolving the Parliament and would call a new election, a year ahead of schedule.

Violence, intimidation, control and isolation are being used against women in Tonga by some husbands who are seeking to gain "coercive control". A Tongan-born and influential Australian Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Pastor, Athal Tolhurst (82), was laid to rest yesterday in Cooranbong, Australia. Tolhurst passed away on August 7 after being airlifted from Tonga where he had suffered a stroke.
