The ‘Ikale Tahi scored three tries to defeat Manu Samoa 28 – 18 yesterday 16 June in Suva, Fiji. Despite conceding numerous penalties throughout the game, the ‘Ikale Tahi dominated possession and territory. Star halfback Sona Takulua converted all of Tonga’s penalties and missed only one conversion.

Crowds of families queued at the government's Treasury today waiting to get cash handouts in the form of cheques from a government account. The people waiting for the handouts said their homes were either damaged or destroyed by severe Tropical Cyclone Gita in February. The hand out organised by the Ministry of Finance they said aimed to help them rebuild their homes.

The ‘Ikale Tahi were defeated by Georgia 16 – 15 in the opening round of the Pacific Nations Cup in Suva, Fiji on Saturday 9 June. Georgia's swarming defense frustrated the ‘Ikale Tahi throughout the match, and regularly forced Tonga's backline into lateral movements.
