A dividend of $782,048.69 for the financial year 2020-2021, for Tonga Communications Corporation, was declared by the public enterprises ICT Sector Shared Board, at its Annual General Meeting in Nuku’alofa on May 5.

After two weeks of scrambling for satellite connectivity, one of Tonga's two main telecommunications networks started rolling out more data capacity last week. But there's simply not enough capacity to meet national demand, and allocation of bandwidth has to be carefully managed, until the fibre optic cable is repaired.

Hundreds of internet users lost their service in Tonga yesterday morning in an extended internet disruption that is continuing for some customers of Tonga Telecommunications Corporation for a second day, today. While the TCC wireless postpaid service remained operational yesterday, TCC staff explained that the outage affected their prepaid customers and the ADSL fixed line services.
