Tonga's Prime Minister, Lord Tu'ivakano, and other Pacific Leaders met the US President Barack Obama, and the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in Honolulu, Hawaii, while the President was in Hawaii for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2011 annual meeting from November12-20.

There is no security threat in Tonga, Forum leaders have been assured, and the Pacific Islands Forum meeting is still scheduled to be held in Nuku'alofa from October 23-25, Tonga's Prime Minister Hon. Dr Feleti Sevele told the Tongan parliament yesterday. There was reported concern by Pacific Leaders for their safety while attending the Forum Meeting because of threats of protest by a pro-political reform group.
