Three Nomuka fishermen rescued on a reef in the Lau Group last week, remain on Oneata Island waiting for rough seas to calm before they can be transported to Suva for their return to Tonga.

Fiji authorities today believed they had found three missing Tongan fishermen at Oneata in the Lau Group. The men who were discovered on a reef by divers are now believed to be safe on Oneata Island.

A search and rescue operation is underway to find three fishermen from Nomuka, Ha'apai, who have been missing since Wednesday, 30 July.
