Heavyweight judoka Finetu’ui Moala won two medals for Tonga, securing Bronze in the over 100kg weight category and Silver in the open heavyweight category of the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa. A second bronze model was won by Sailosi Ealelei in the under 100kg weight division.

Tonga won a gold and two silver medals, in the heavy-weight categories at the 2017 Oceania Judo Championships this afternoon. Ineti Felemi won gold and Fungataau Mafi won silver in the women’s over 78kg; while Finetuui Moala won silver in the men's over 100kg, at ‘Atele Indoor Stadium, April 28.
