Results for Chinese aid to Tonga

A hundred laptops, with laptop bags, mouse sets, and operating systems, were received by the Government on 16 May, donated by the Dongguan Municipal Government.

Nine farm tractors and eight fishing boats donated by China, were handed over to Tonga today at an official ceremony at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Forests and Fisheries (MAFFF) office, Ma’ufanga.

There are unofficial reports circulating that Tonga may extend its international border closure beyond 12 June.

A travel schedule expected for a chartered flight to bring medical supplies from China has not been confirmed at this stage. The medical supplies are aimed to help Tonga in its preventative measures against COVID-19.
