Fijian woman (79) dies in Nuku'alofa hotel

A 79-year-old Fijian woman died at a hotel in Nuku'alofa on 17 May. There are no suspicious circumstances.

A report made to Tonga Police on Saturday, 17 May, concerning the death of a woman at a hotel in the Nuku'alofa area.

Responding officers identified the deceased as a 79-year-old female of Fijian nationality residing in Australia.

Police says, "According to the medical report and confirmation from a family member, the deceased had cancer, which has been identified as the cause of death."

Last month, a Korean man residing in Australia died in a hotel in Nuku'alofa, which Police found that the cause of death was due to cardiac arrest.
