Friday, August 5, 2005 - 19:00

Bold civil servants - Feleti S.:
I must say that I am impressed at the boldness of Tongan civil servants who refused take the peanuts offered by government. Civil servants at the lower end of the boat have been bailing out the water for too long. Now it is the government’s turn to start bailing the water in order to keep Tonga’s economy from sinking.
Refusal by the government to pay what is due is a vivid indication where their heart lies, not with the people but with the money they squeeze from those
who struggle to survive.
I suggest the government humbly take this piece of advice which I wrote myself, and have given on many occasions to those in need of it. I call it the “D” story.
*Dishonest and lazy leaders frequently make wrong
*Decisions and unreasonable
*Delays. Often
*Dumb and
*Disheartened they are
*Deceived by the
*Devil
*Dissolved in their greed, they become
*Dirty and
*Doomed
*Divine intervention is often invoked by the
*Destitute in the hope of
*Dealing with things. When all is said and
*Done and yet there is no sign of
*Deliverence, people often resort to violence and
*Destruction which is
*Deadly when it
*Dissipates. This could turn a nation into a huge
*Den filled people who are
*Damned
*Digest the wisdom given to you today for it will
*Direct you away from wicked people and the ungodly
*Desires that
*Daunt you
*Day after day till you are
*Dead and gone.
*Destiny is a journey filled with many winding
*Dangers and
*Disturbances, just remember
*Diligence and
*Dedication is the key to the
*Door you seek - Feleti S.
