Good point that has been
Good point that has been raised by the palangi. When I was working in the UN system, (1996-2001) and (2005-2010) per diem allowance for Tongan civil servants and Parliamentarians was more than the per diem for UN employees and other aid agencies. So often we hear the reason why the Government of Tonga can't finance projects / activities to improve the quality of life of the poor, the marginalised, youth, the elderly, people with mental health problems etc is they have no funds. I understand that financial statements have not been provided by Government on how the revenue they have been collecting over the last few years has been spent. If this is the case, can the Ombudsman or the relevant department enlighten us? Respectfully, a concerned elderly getting ready to meet our maker.
