A 25-year-old male suspect from Afa was arrested by the Tonga Police Drug squad, with packs of alleged cannabis and Tongan pa'anga cash.
Tonga Police stated that they received reliable information regarding a suspect involved in the distribution of illicit drugs within the community of Afa, in Tongatapu.
“Acting on this intelligence, the Drug squad arrested the 25-year-old male suspect, and seized 42 packs of cannabis weighing 42.66 grams and TOP$490 cash.”
The suspect has been charged with possession of illicit drugs and remains in police custody as investigations are ongoing.
Tonga Police advised the public of the dangers posed by drug related activities. They urged the public to report any suspicious activities related to illicit drugs to the nearest police station.
