Asymptomatic transmission of CoVid-19 not proven

Tonga’s Ministry of Health trusts the World Health Organization’s (WHO) view that asymptomatic transmission of CoVID-19 has not been proven, CEO of the Ministry of Health Dr Siale 'Akau'ola said this week.

I would like to thank the CEO Dr Siale Akauola and the Ministry of Health for the work they are conducting to protect Tonga from COVID19. This is the ministry that is leading the campaign against COVID19 and we need to have faith in the work they are doing. I know that there is so much misinformation on social media and is leading people to question the measures currently being implemented. The ministry has very qualified personnel with wealth of knowledge and experience, and is working closely with the appropriate organisations abroad to ensure that the measures in place are the most appropriate under the current circumstances.
