‘Ikale Tahi snatches win from Italy in extra-time thriller

The ‘Ikale Tahi have defeated Italy 19 – 17 after a successful extra-time penalty conversion by Sonatane Takulua snatched a sure victory from the Italians. The loss is a huge anti-climax for Italy who only last week defeated South Africa 20 - 18.

Congratulations 'Ikale Tahi, our salute to Toutai and his staff, our appreciation for the prayers and support of all Tongans and fans. Please allow us to eat, drink and be merry - at least while this remarkable accomplishment last - because history and tradition will soon take over and someone, some committee, some arrangement in our beloved Tonga will emerge to bring Tonga Rugby down to the gutter again - I pray that I am wrong - for the Rugby world knows that the Warriors who done the 'Ikale Tahi Jersey of Tonga has the size, the training, the experience, and most of all the heart to win World Cups - and they pray for our continued disintegration.
