Really positive to see Tonga
Really positive to see Tonga being proactive in relation to drugs but somewhat concerning to see officials using tyres as fuel! This is not a good look for Tonga's image. I hope whoever was responsible has been "educated" about the error of their ways. :-(
Can you name the "independent
Can you name the "independent representatives from the Office of the Auditor General, Ministry of Health, Kolofo'ou District Officer, Kolomotu'a Town Officer and Tonga Police" who witnessed the burning of the cannabis on top of the tyres" and what their job was attending this burning process? Presumably they are being paid as civil servants so they are being paid by tax payers. It is important they be given training about safe environmental practices. Naming these people would enable Environmental Organisations - or if the PSA is responsible - to organise a training/education programme to ensure that these civil servants perform their duties better. The group might also be examined by medical personnel to ensure that their health has not been adversely affected by what must have been an intoxicating mixture of fumes resulting from the burnt marijuana & rubber tyres -hopefully they will all get a clean bill of health so that they don't sue the Government for danger money!
