Bainimarama is still a Dictator. He came to power in a coup de dat'. People's lives were lost in the coup de dat' that Bainimarama led, and Fiji is still labeled a "human rights" violator by the UN. – Sione A. Mokofisi.

Yes he lead as a dictator but that doesnt mean he is not a good leader/person. Its easier to see the evil in someone than the good he has done. Is this what christian is, to label someone as a dictator by his past neglecting what good he has done?
According to locals he has done what most leaders can't, striping corruption from the government system. People at rural communities are finally getting some benefit from the government. Other races (Indo-Fijian, Rabian, Rotuman, Indian) are treated equal as they should be. Education has become free of cost from primary to high school. The list goes on . . . Its not a perfect system and what he has done in the past is not in line with most international conventions but he believes needs to be done. We may not agree with his actions but majority believes that he has done a good job.
Its a bit harsh to actually state that "Ratu Mara used his brain (not brains)" while Bainimarama did not.
From my opinion, he is the kind of leader that is not afraid to get his hands dirty for the greater good but who am I, Im nobody with my two cents opinion.
