I find it outrageous that
I find it outrageous that "Speaker orders Mo'ale out of Parliament...". When did a "religious" speech become intolerable anywhere in Tonga?
PR Mo'ale Finau was out of line to "preach" from the floor of Parliament. I don't blame non-Mormon members of the House for feeling uneasy. Mr. Finau was probably overcome emotionally by pride in his church's charitable donations to the Ha'apai Relief efforts. As a fellow Mormon, I apologize for his precocious temerity. However, politically as a Democracy Party Representative, he should not have used the event as a sledgehammer to criticize Government with. That was an embarrassing act in his part, I must admit. However, it did not deserve an expulsion of a People's Representative from his right to give a speech in Parliament referencing a religious charitable donations to Tonga's plight. ... Nobody is persecuted in Tonga for his/her religious belief; we cherish our religious freedom and are tolerant of other religions.
The Hon. Clive Edwards and the Speaker seemed arrogant and intolerant of a speech relating to religion.
