Normal Parliamentary election for Tonga in 2008

Although the Legislative Assembly has resolved that the democratic parliamentary and political reform will come into full effect in 2010, the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Feleti Sevele, in accordance with the Constitution and the Legislative Assembly Act, which both require general elections to be held every three years, the last election being on 17 March 2005.
