Revd. objects to crude call for prayers to guide the king
Monday, October 1, 2007 - 20:51
The Kele'a on September 26 reports that the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga will conduct prayers on November 9, loosely aimed at steering the King away from profligate living. The church's director of Christian education Rev. Dr. Taliai Niumeitolu, objected to the wording saying that it is too crude. But the Kele'a denounced Rev. Niumeitolu's concern, as being obsequious to the authorities. Highlights from Tonga's newspapers, September 26-27, 2007. An English translation summary by Tevita Fonua.
