A crowd of people from various churches in Tonga led by some church leaders, today marched to the Palace Office in Nuku'alofa to present four petitions to King Tupou VI, in opposition to Tonga's intention to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

In a surprise announcement today Tonga's government revealed that it is shifting its Tourism Division away from the Ministry of Labour, Commerce, and Tourism and placing it under the Ministry of Infrastructure from June 1.

Rev. Sioeli Finau (63) from Nukunuku is the fisherman who remains missing since heading out to Malinoa Island, off Tongatapu on Monday, 11 May. Police are appealing to fishing boats to report any sightings of him and the missing 25ft boat.
