Tonga might possibly have a new domestic air service operating by June 9, but nobody knows for sure how or when a new service can become operational.

Royal Tongan Airlines has confirmed today that using other airlines they have uplifted nearly all of the 1,300 passengers stranded in Nuku'alofa, Auckland, Sydney, Rarotonga and Honolulu since the RTA international service was grounded on April 22.

Polynesian Airlines has increased its service out of Tonga from two to three flights a week, as from December 2. The new service on Saturdays is a direct flight from Tonga to Sydney in the morning, returning in the evening.
