In the Second Round of the Federation of Oceania Rugby Union Under-21 tournament at the Teufaiva Stadium, Nuku...’alofa, yesterday afternoon, March 9, Fiji lost to Samoa after taking the lead for most of the match. High schools and colleges in Tongatapu have held their sports days over the last two weeks to choose their best athletes for the upcoming Inter College Sports to be held on March 31 -April 2. The hot summer days with temperatures around 30 celcius did not dampen the enthusiasm of the competitors or their supporters.

The Tongan Rugby Union at the beginning of December 2004 started its campaign to qualify for the 2007 Rugby Union World Cup. In two days time, at the end of December, after the final of the Aoniu Tournament the TRU will pick a squad of 60 players for a four-day trial between 8-12 January 2005 when a 30-member development team will be picked to tour New Zealand and Australia.

I am in charge of the Rugby Union division which means that I am currently the agent for about 40 professional rugby players, finding clubs for them, sponsorship deals, helping them with their finances, etc. My love for Tonga has meant that I have tried to help as many Tongan players as possible. - Tom Fowler
