Tevita 'Ahoafi (28) who is charged with the murder of his close relative Sione 'Ahoafi (79) at a home in Ha'avakatolo on May 25, was transferred to Hu'atolitoli Prison on May 31, because it is more secure. The accused will be remanded in custody until a date is set for his case to be called at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court.

A 33-year-old man from Kolovai was hunted by a Police Tactical Response Group and arrested after he allegedly shot a man with a rifle at a home in Fo'ui on May 23. The victim is reported to be in a stable condition at Vaiola Hospital with injuries on his upper left arm.

Australia has also cancelled the visas of three Tongans while a fourth visa is being considered for cancellation.
