THE Minister of Education Hon Dr 'Ana Taufe'ulungaki led a special presentation of traditional kava and yams to the Queen Mother Halaevalu at the Tufumahina residence, on May 6. The Minister of Education said they had invited the Queen Mother to be their guest of honour at the 2011 Education Day for May 27 at the Teufaiva Stadium. The presentation was to thank the Queen Mother and to wish her a very happy Mothers Day this Sunday, she said. The Minister was accompanied by senior education officials, principals, teachers and high school students in their presentation to the Queen. The Queen Mother turns 85 on May 29 this year.

HON Moimoikimofuta Vaea (49), a son of the late Baron Vaea and Baroness Tuputupu of Houma passed away at Vaiola Hospital this afternoon, May 5. A family member confirmed that Hon. Moimoikimofuta, better known as Moimoi, died from a heart failure. He was the Vice President of the Tonga Football Association (TFA). It is understood that Moimoi was not feeling well at work, at the Tonga Football compound at Loto Tonga, and was rushed to hospital after mid-day where he passed away. The remains of Hon. Moimoi have been transferred from the hospital to his home at Makapaeo, and the funeral arrangements are expected to be confirmed later, Hon Moimoi is a younger brother of Princess Nanasipau'u Tuku'aho and Lord Vaea. Hon Moimoi who was born on July 26, 1961, was not married.
