The 15 year diplomatic relationship between the People's Republic of China and Tonga had resulted in fruitful cooperation and development, which included the gift of an MA60 aircraft to Tonga, the Chinese Ambassador to Tonga HE Mr Wang Donghua said last night, September 26.

The Premier of the People's Republic of China, Li Keqiang pledged that China would advance the development of relations between China and Tonga, when he met the Tongan Prime Minister Lord Tu'ivakano at the Great Hall of the People in downtown Beijing yesterday, 22 July. Lord Tu'ivakano told the premier that Tonga attached great importance to developing relations with China.

China's first Film Festival in Tongatapu this week marks the 15th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tonga and China. The festival opened on April 5 with a special screening of a Chinese Film, attended by Queen Nanasipau'u at the Fa'onelua Convention Centre.
