Seven community projects supporting women, youth, health, and the environment throughout Tonga, received funding from Tonga Offshore Mining Ltd (TOML) and Deep Green today, 15 January.

Four new community projects will be funded under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) after grant contracts were signed today. They include a new classroom for Kolomotu’a Government Primary School, a water supply system for Vaini, a vehicle for the OTA Center, and waste collection vehicles for Ha'apai.

A massive national roads project that aims to tarseal 2,149 kilometers of roads throughout Tonga, is underway with a $15 million pa'anga allocation in the government's 2020-2021 national budget. It's a fraction of the $300 million that is needed to complete the task.
